Background in 802.11 Drivers

Intelligraphics began working in 802.11 in early 2000, as wireless LAN entered the marketplace. Intelligraphics' team, many of whom had RF-based driver experience for military or commercial communications products prior to joining Intelligraphics, provided Windows drivers and firmware architecture development and consulting. While initial work was primarily for PCI/PCMCIA/CardBus adapters, our development grew to include drivers for USB-based communications as hardware that supported USB became available.

Intelligraphics implemented access point software for clients, creating software that enabled the proper routing of data and management of a secure wireless LAN network. Intelligraphics' networking team developed performance monitoring and control applications and installation applications, working with clients to provide custom solutions to differentiate their product offerings.

We have also worked with companies to prepare their hardware and drivers for WHQL submission, performing WHQL pre-submission testing and resolving defects that would prevent passage. (As many vendors discovered, Windows XP is a unique challenge due to the scope and complexity of the WHQL HCT tests.)

Today, our experience in the design and development of 802.11 drivers includes both 802.11a, b and g and extends to a number of platforms. We have worked with hardware from virtually all major vendors and specialize in development for the Atheros line of wireless LAN hardware. Intelligraphics can assist with development for Windows, MacOS, Linux, VxWorks, Palm, Symbian and many other operating systems.
